A man’s chances of dying early are cut by a fifth if their bride is between 15 and 17 years younger.

The risk of premature death is reduced by 11 per cent if men marry a woman seven to nine years younger.

The study at Germany’s Max Planck institute also found that men marrying older women are more likely to die early.

The results suggest that women do not experience the same benefits of marrying a boy toy or a sugar daddy.

Women with husbands older or younger by between seven and nine years increase their chances of dying early by 20 per cent.

This rises to 30 per cent if the age difference is close to 15 and 17 years.

But what happens if you remove a human from his social bonds, wrenching him from the super organism of which he or she is a part?

In the 1940’s, the psychologist Rene Spitz studied human babies isolated from their mothers. These were the infants of women too poor to care for their children, infants who had been placed permanently in a foundling home. This list is a little different; it compiles 50 things to say before you die.

Why such a list? Because you’d be surprised how little people express their selves and say what they need to say to those who matter. You don’t want to be on your deathbed before you utter these words.
